Minstrel’s Lullaby

mountains-665199_960_720

Complexion of starlight and

hair cut from the cloth of night,

her eye ever-watching me.

Cold as the bitter chill,

only she has warmed my body.

I’ve serenaded the women

of this world,

with her as my only muse;

a siren that sings

to my heart and wrecks my soul.

I have grown to love

the emptiness she cherishes—

silence our binding vow.

Time approaches,

she dons her amber pendant.

It’s glow burning her

once more.

I too,

will rest—

until tonight.

  1. Hello. This is a nice piece of writing. Very raw and honest. I hope I could learn how to write like this as well. I’ve been practicing. This community really helps a lot of aspiring writers. I followed your blog for more, I hope you could follow me too. Thanks. 😊
